Kathy Hewitt
Kathy Hewitt, 63, of Sandy Hook, died December 17, of complications from surgery. One of six children born to Laura and the late John Hewitt, she grew up in Fairfield and lived there most of her life.
She was most proud of her two children, but she was also a woman of many talents who will be remembered for her gentle, giving, good-humored nature.
Ms Hewitt was a skilled hairstylist, a fine painter, and an unrivaled cook. She enjoyed music and dancing, playing cards, and traveling. She was happiest on the beach, with her toes in the sand and a good book in her hands, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Those who knew her say her love was limitless, and not just for her family; she extended kindness and compassion to everyone she met. The world is a better place because she was in it.
In addition to her mother, her children, Amy Jeanfaivre and Steve Guagliano of Sandy Hook and Gary Jeanfaivre, Jr, and his wife, Callie, of Sandy Hook; nine grandchildren: Briana, Mya, and Karlie Krasowski, Olivia, Abby, Luke, and Joey Guagliano, and Emmett and Isabelle Jeanfaivre; her siblings and their spouses, John, Jr, and Donna Hewitt of Lakeland, Fla., Rick and Mindy Hewitt of Sandy Hook, Laureen and Steve Collins of Sandy Hook, and Diane and Carl Massafra, of Shelton; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews and their children survive her.
Her father and her brother, Paul Hewitt, predeceased her.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life Thursday, December 20, from 4 to 8 pm, at Penfield Pavilion, 323 Fairfield Beach Road, Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
