American Eagles 2, Desserts 1: Rylee Mulligan (assisted by Grace Sholtes) scored, and Lauren Carrino scored on a shot from 18 yards away for the American Eagles. Rachel Tomasino preserved the win with superb goaltending and Brianna Lovely played a great defensive game. For the Desserts, Elizabeth âÃclairâ Salley played a great game in goal. Malia âFrostingâ Gioffre was the frosting on the Dessertsâ defense and Natalie âCakeâ Kelchner scored the lone goal for the Desserts.
Fighting Irish 4, Wolverines 0: Wolverines: Mary Hufziger played well as goalkeeper and as a center forward. Olivia Bellagamba played well in midfield. Kristina Goeree was excellent on defense, thwarting multiple Fighting Irish attacks. Gabrielle Reisert was also excellent in defense. Fighting Irish:Â Jenna Lavelle (2) and Makayla Manoni (2) scored the Fighting Irish goals. Heidi Poarch played great on defense and Elizabeth Mawdsley was outstanding offensively.
Dynamites 5, Monkees 1: Ashley Santore and Jackie Matthews each had two goals apiece for the Dynamites, who received strong offense from Catherine Shaw and Maddie Carter. Dani Gaiser and Kira Kelly led the defense. Emma Boland scored for the Monkees, while Brooke Antous and Ashley Marron played strong offensively. Lauryn Ankers debuted in goal.
Thundering Jaguars 2, Soccer Stars 2: Julia Haskins had an assist and Bella Jimenez scored both goals for the T-Jags. Carolina Stubbs and Audrey Sedensky were strong on defense and Tess Hubbard had a great overall game. For the Soccer Stars, Keeley Kortze scored on an assist from Anna Moscovici, with Rebecca Gavel adding the other goal. Cassidy Kortze and Lauren Adams both put in strong overall performances.

Funkey Monkies 2, Mustangs 1: For the Funkey Monkies, Lauren Cirone scored in the first half (assist by Stephanie Haas). Hailey Conrad played hard on both offense and defense while Alexandra Manoni scored the winning goal in the second half. Both Caroline Condon and Taylor Pare put forth a great effort in goal. The Mustangs played a hard-fought game with the lone goal scored by the combination of Lauren King and Megan Olszewski. Erin Tressler showed great footwork the entire game and Ashling Sugarman played great defense.

Newtown Comets 1, Bethel 1: Solid offensive pressure was provided by Portia Baudisch while Quinn Karp (assist) and Mikayla Kuligowski (goal) set up the lone tally in the Cometsâ tie. Alyssa Ruefenacht was courageous in goal for the first half and Sarah Lyon showed great effort on defense.

Lightning 2, Monroe 0: Kailee Dunnigan scored twice to put the Lightning in the lead, first with a rocket from the right of the post and then with a long-distance drive that arched into the back of the net. Kelsey Muniz helped keep up the offensive pressure with quick feet and deft ball handling. Megan Meyer anchored the defense and Helene Sorensen hustled in the backfield, while Kate Fallon and Jessica Keller played well in goal for the shutout.
U14
Twisters 1, Earthquakes 0: The one goal was scored by Kerry Scallon with an assist by Bella Saraceni. Tight defense by Andrea Rodriguez, strong midfield play be Anna Pinckney and Samantha Luzietti and strong overall performances from Ashley Marks, Jessica Coughlin and Christina Badiola helped the Earthquakes hold off the Twisters until the last 5 minutes in the second half.
Tidal Waves: 5 Team Two 1: For the Tidal Waves: 2 goals were scored by Emily Grimes with an assist by Sierra Mather. Goals were also scored by Jamie Duncan, Jesse Sailer and Meghan Grimes. Great all around play by Jen Davies and Ashley Maturo. For Team 2: Gabby Kalinowski scored on a breakaway. Madigan Chrystie did a great job in goal. Megan Milano, Bailey Smith, Hannah Grant and Emily Campbell all played excellent games on offense and defense.
Boys
U8
Cobras 6, Hawks 2: Austin Smith played great on offense and scored his first goal of the season. Jacob Riley and James Belden each added a goal. Andrew Tomasino played great as goalie. For the Hawks, Nick Weiland made a solid offensive effort and scored the teamâs two goals. Joel Duval played strong in defense, while Joe Pagett and John Albanesi hustled and had good all around games.

Tigers 6, Spider Pigs 2: For the Tigers, Tony Leonardi scored 3 goals, Evan Eggleston scored 2, and Elliott Bennett scored 1. Christopher Anesi and Daniel McCarthy played well in goal. Erik Mihok and Colin Villamana had strong defensive games. Owen Samson and Connor Flint each scored for the Spider Pigs. Ryan Brello and Sam Grossano had great overall games, and CJ Shambelan and Brian Kerins were tough on defense.Â

Newtown Strikers 5, FUSA Storm 0: The Strikers pulled ahead early in the first half with two quick goals from Jonathan Guilherme. Guilherme went on to score one more in the second half, with Newtown also receiving goals from Cole Rogalin and Paul OâLeary. Bryce Mather and Alex Gerbo rounded out the offensive effort, while Robby Schreiber and Michael OâKeefe were strong on defense. Zachary Laros and Matt Stewart combined for the shutout in goal.
U14
Beast 5, Strikerz 4: After the Beast built a 5-0 lead on the scoring of Tyler Coleman (3 goals) and Brad Kretz (2 goals), the Strikerz fought back in the second half with Nick Shannon and Zack Weiland each scoring a goal while Ivan Hutchinson scored twice to bring them within one. Despite the offensive explosion on both sides, Noah Velush-Rogers played very good defense for the Strikerz and Michael Unschuld covered the whole field for the Beast with an attacking defense.
ManU 7, Oskars 4: For the Oskars, goals by Dillon Palumbo, Adam Hufziger and 2 by Blake Jarvis led the way. Erik Von Schleusingen had a great overall game. ManU was led by 3 goals each from Gavin Scallon and Brandon Parks, including a great header, and one goal for Miguel Rodriguez with Alistor Sore playing tough in goal.
Cobras 6, Trumbull 0: Tyler Ruefenacht led the high-powered offense with two goals and two assists. Additional goals were added by Francis Saraceni, Noah Sock, Mergim Bajraliu and Kerian Larnder. Nick Gerbo and Matt Rahtelli dominated play in the center of the field. Sean Elliot kept the game scoreless through the first 20 minutes of the game with several great saves in net while Sam Langdon and Robert Willis took control of the defense in the second half.
