Rock This Democracy organizers have announced their next event: a street protest on Thursday, May 1, beginning at 5:30 pm, in collaboration with Newtown Action Alliance, Junior Newtown Action Alliance, May Day National Day of Action, and others.

The street protest will take place along the west side of Main Street from Edmond Town Hall southward, followed by a rally at 6:15 pm in the parking lot behind Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

According to event organizers in a pre-event press release, participants will rally together and demand “a country that puts our families over their fortunes — public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, housing over homelessness, lives over gun industry profits.”
