The Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue (SHVFR) Company’s Ladies Auxiliary recently completed its first fundraiser of the year, and is already looking toward the next.

Members were at the SHVFR main station on Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19, when hanging baskets and seasonal potted flowers were sold. The group also conducted an Easter basket raffle.

The auxiliary’s annual Mother’s Day Flower Sale is planned for Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, 10 am to 6 pm both days, or while supplies last.

The women will be offering flowers, potted plants, and hanging baskets at the SHVFR main station, 18-20 Riverside Road.

Those who arrive with a donation for FAITH Food Pantry will be entered into a raffle for a Mother’s Day basket.

Both events are fundraisers for the auxiliary, which serves as the support group for the volunteer fire company. Proceeds will benefit the auxiliary, a not-for-profit group that supports the fire company and other local organizations during the year.
