Speaks Highly Of First Selectman
To the Editor:
We have been residents of Newtown since 1997 and enjoyed our life here.
Last week we celebrated my mother-in-law, Dorothy, 100th birthday. Dorothy is a resident in Maplewood Senior Living in Newtown and is extremely happy there.
At the birthday celebration, a proclamation was submitted by the town’s first selectman, A. Jeffrey Capeci. Following a reception we had an opportunity to speak with Mr Capeci. We usually read about his contribution to our town in the newspaper, and we do not have opportunities to meet him. Our face-to-face meeting enabled us to realize how lucky we are to have him at the helm. We found him to be honest, soft-spoken, caring and well-versed.
He spoke at “eye level” and eliminated any barrier which could exist between a senior politician and the people he represents. He spoke with my mother-in-law with sincerity and gentleness, making her very comfortable.
When we said goodbye, we felt we had another proof that our town is in good hands.
