House of Harrison will benefit from a supplies drive planned for Tuesday, June 3.

Volunteers will be collecting new underwear, socks and sweatpants for men and women; and personal care items. The clothing items can be any size.

Financial donations will also be accepted during the event, which will be a drive-thru style presentation in front of Newtown Parent Connection, within Fairfield Hills at 2 Washington Square.

Donations will be collected between 5 and 7 pm.

Headquartered within Newtown Paren Connection, House of Harrison is a “new beginnings boutique” that provides clothing, shoes, jewelry, and resumé guidance to individuals transitioning from treatment, sober living, and group homes. It was founded in early 2024 by Newtown resident Lynne Farah and former Newtown Parent Connection Director Dorrie Carolan. The program is named in honor of Farah’s late son Harrison, who died in August 2023.

Patients leaving sober living treatment often find themselves with nothing but the clothes on their backs because they leave everything behind before entering treatment. The House of Harrison offers items to help those people get back on their feet and return to their regular lives in a manner that helps them stay sober.

The program’s mission is to help individuals in recovery rebuild their lives with confidence.

“We were able to put it under the umbrella for Parent Connection,” Carolan told The Newtown Bee in March 2024. “Patients can come out of sober living, come here, and get ready for the business world.”

For those who cannot participate in tomorrow’s supplies drive but would like to help, an Amazon wish list is also maintained year-round. For additional information visit ctparentconnection.org/hoh.
