Castle Hill Farm sponsored the annual Ukrainian Festival on its farm grounds on Sunday, August 24.
The day began with a religious service and was followed by traditional dancing and music, and a wide variety of food and desserts made by the parish women. Attendees could dig into varennyky (potato and cheese dumplings), holubchi (stuffed cabbage), borscht (beet soup) and much more.
Meanwhile, Kalynonka Ukrainian Dance Group of Stamford, singers Olga Olichka, Lanka Halychana, and duet Yaroslavna delighted everyone with their performances.
The festival also included numerous vendors who were selling traditional Ukrainian goods and clothing as well as booths dedicated to supporting the Ukrainian people in the war with Russia. These crafts included embroidered blouses, shirts, jewelry, T-shirts, children’s books, flags, and stickers.
