Supports Embree Ku Over Moore
To The Editor:
Choice is a foundation to a good democracy, along with people stepping up and participating. It is great that this year we have two individuals that are very interested in running for State Representative of the 106th district on the Democratic side. Especially since it was only a few years ago that the seat went uncontested. However, with choice it is also important for people to know everything they can about who they are voting for.
Over the past few months, I have kept an open mind about our candidates. I know Michelle Embree Ku very well as I have worked with her for many years. But I took the time to get to know Brandon Moore. I have talked to him one on one, attended DTC meetings and the forum that took place a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, what I have seen in Brandon is a lot of the qualities that people complain about with our current Representative in the 106th. I have watched as he tries to manipulate circumstances in his favor, gives answers that people want to hear (or avoid answering questions altogether), and show up for every photo op that he can get into.
Basically, he has presented himself as a politician and that is always something that leaves me unable to trust an individual. Brandon has said repeatedly that the important result in this election is to beat Mitch, but I wonder what the point is if the alternative is someone exactly the same with a different letter next to their name.
I feel that Michelle Embree Ku is the right choice to represent the 106th in Hartford, she is someone we can trust. That said, I hope that everyone takes the time to come out to NMS at 6 PM on March 26th for the Democratic Caucus to make their voice heard on who they think is the best choice.
