Parents of Newtown students are encouraged to submit photos of their children attending or preparing for the first day of the 2026-27 school year, which was Thursday, August 27.

The deadline to submit pictures for the Friday, September 4 print edition of the paper is 8 am Tuesday, September 1. Photos should be submitted by e-mail to editor@thebee.com and include: the first and last names of those pictured, their grade level, the school they attend, and the name of the person who took the photo.

Many parents have already responded to the annual call, and The Newtown Bee looks forward to seeing additional photos in next week's paper.
