Dardo Galletto believes “if you can walk, you can tango.” On Thursday, September 10, Galletto and his tango partner, Alonso Guzmán, visited Newtown Senior Center for the first time. The pair has previously held two special events at Aquila’s Nest Vineyards.

During the hour long presentation and teaser for the upcoming class series at Newtown Senior Center, Galletto and Guzmán emphasized tango can help people form a relationship between the upper and lower body.

During the intro class, Galletto called on a few students of his who were already in the crowd. Each student shared how dancing tango has changed their life. Some said they discovered new ways to move their bodies, while others said the classes have had a deeply positive impact on their relationships.

At the end of the intro class, Guzmán and Galletto performed together to show what students can learn in the upcoming classes. Guzmán said, “Argentine tango is like wine, it gets better with age. It improves your walking, stability, and movement flow. It’s always a good time to learn tango!” The classes will run Thursdays, starting September 24, through October 22, 11 am-noon.
