To The Editor:

My family and I have been residents of this beautiful community since September 1, 2000. Our children grew up in our friendly, caring little town, were educated in our public schools, and were staked to wonderful foundations that began their individual life journeys to our present day. Rachel and Matthew are today, both responsible, self-sufficient, loving people that make Luisa and I proud every day of our lives. They have also brought to us a terrific Son-in-Law, Adam, and soon, a fabulous Daughter in Law, Sophia. As a family, we are blessed.

As your State Representative for the last 14-years, I have also been blessed to get to know so many of you, and to have had the honor to have served our community in this capacity, I thank those of you who truly have understood my 24/7/365 commitment to a role that's considered a "part-time job" — because caring can never stop at 5pm.

Serving you has been the greatest honor of my life, and I'd like you to know how very grateful I am to have had the privilege of doing so for seven terms.

I have wished your new State Representative the very best of success in her service to you, and have offered to help her transition. I also plan to take the next couple months making good on promises and commitments to those of you with whom I'm working on active constituent matters, with the intent to resolve, or tie them up in a tight little bow for handoff to Michelle.

As for our future, Luisa and I will emerge a more closely knit couple with more time to love, honor and enjoy some of the simpler things in life. Having a little more "together-time" will leave us more time to renew and strengthen our love, spend more time with family, and look to our future.

Thank you friends and neighbors for the incredible honor of representing you. Luisa and I will see you around town, and will always smile back.
