Youth Found Unconscious
In Backyard Swimming Pool
A Southbury youth was being treated in the intensive care unit of Yale-New
Haven Hospital Thursday morning after he was found unconscious in a swimming
pool Tuesday on Toddy Hill Road.
A condition report on James Rheault, 15, of 160 Manor Road, Southbury, wasn't
available.
Police said they provided medical assistance at about 3:10 pm on Tuesday at 73
Toddy Hill Road where Rheault was found unconscious by a friend in an
above-ground swimming pool.
The victim apparently had been swimming underwater before he was found, police
said.
Neighbors began giving him cardio-pulmonary resusciation. The Newtown
Volunteer Amnbulance Corps arrived soon thereafter and continmued
adminsietering CPR, police said. The ambulance corps transported Rheault to
Danbury Hospital, after which he was flown by Lifestar helicopter to Yale-New
Haven.
