Rotary District Governor

Brian Amey was recently installed as Rotary District 7980 Governor for 2012-2013. Mr Amey, an assistant vice president at Newtown Savings Bank, has been a member of Newtown Rotary Club since 2000.

He was 2003-04 club president, is a Paul Harris Fellow, and has been the recipient of many awards over the years.

Born in Southampton, England, Mr Amey served in the Royal Air Force, returning to receive his degree and a career in retail banking. He transferred to Connecticut in 1995.

In addition to his Rotary activities, Mr Amey has served as treasurer of the Newtown Labor Day Parade Committee for many years. He resides in Oxford with his wife Margaret.
