Bad Manners

To the Editor:

I was disappointed in Newtown’s Lacrosse team on Saturday. I went to see them play at Tilson Field on Saturday against Cheshire, and Newtown never showed up. My niece plays for the Cheshire team, so I thought I would see her play a good game on our turf. Play was supposed to start at 10:30 and I got there a little early and no one from Newtown was there.

The Cheshire coach called a few people and got an answer that the white team from Newtown had joined the blue team in a jamboree and that the game against Cheshire was cancelled. No one from Newtown notified Cheshire that the game was cancelled so all the team and family members showed up to play a game. This was uncalled for because all it would have taken was a phone call earlier in the week to let the Cheshire team know.

I believe in my opinion that the Newtown Lacrosse team owes every parent an apology and a gas card for $10 for driving all this way for nothing. Not to mention I never got to see my niece’s team beat Newtown.
