Vincent DePaul Joyce

Vincent DePaul Joyce, 87, of Toddy Hill Road, Newtown, formerly of Danbury and the Bronx, died August 23 at Ashlar of Newtown. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Kane) Joyce.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., on July 8, 1913, he was a son of the late Christopher and Anna (Lyones) Joyce. He attended New York schools and worked as a Lino Type operator for The New York Times for more than 32 years, retiring in 1973.

He was a member of St Peter Church and the New York Typographical Union.

Mr Joyce is survived by his daughters, Maureen Consiglio of New Fairfield and Regina Joyce of Bronx, N.Y.; his son, Richard Joyce of Brunswick, Ohio; a sister, Anne Burke of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Peter Church on August 26.

Burial was in Central Cemetery, Brookfield.
