Mr & Mrs Ryan Provost

Jessica Marie Taylor and Ryan Reed Provost were married on May 31, 2008, at New Marlborough Meeting House in Great Barrington, Mass. Tom Jaworski officiated the ceremony.

A reception followed at Ski Butternut, also in Great Barrington.

Jessica was given into marriage by her parents, Stephen and Angie Taylor of Newtown.

For her wedding day Jessica wore a Casablanca gown she described as “white, timeless and elegant.” The gown featured a V-neckline, with beading on the hem. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangea roses, white wax flowers and variegated pittsoporum, with three-quarters of the length of the stems wrapped in white satin ribbon.

She and her father danced to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle as their father-daughter dance, and both had to fight back tears.

Aileen Nosal of Newtown was the maid of honor. She wore a tea-length dress with a white top and light green skirt, with a matching light green ribbon around her waist. Her flowers were white hydrangea, raspberry tulips, and Maine blue limonium, also with three-quarters of the length of the stems wrapped in white satin ribbon.

The bridesmaids were Kelly Ojeda of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; Kiyo Akiyama of Bethel; Jenn Omasta of Sandy Hook; and Jen Riccio of Berlin, Conn. Their dresses and flowers were the same style as the maid of honor’s.

The best man was Steven Provost, brother of the groom. The ushers were Blake Brannon of South Windsor; Chris Taylor, a brother of the bride, from Brightwood, Ore.; and Matt Taylor, also a brother of the bride, of Newtown. The men’s tuxedos were completed by black and white Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers.

Jessica and Ryan selected “You and Me,” a song by Lifehouse, for their first dance as husband and wife. Good fortune smiled on them that day: The weather forecast had been calling for rain, but nothing was seen until after the final outdoor wedding photo was taken.

Jessica is a 2003 graduate of Newtown High School, and a 2008 graduate of the University of Connecticut. She is an eighth grade reading teacher in Waterbury.

Ryan graduated from East Lyme High School in 2000. He is manager of GameStop in Danbury.

Following a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple have returned to their home in Newtown.
