Craig Doersch Painting vs Diamond Electrical Supply: Craig Doersch Painting had strong at-bat contributions by Isabelle Caron, Sofia Doersch, Ashley Guerrera and Mikayla Maurer. In the field, the team had impressive defensive plays by Ashley Cote and Rory Coon. Casey Quinn offered great support at second base. For Diamond Electric Supply, the offense was led by Tory Lewis, Eleanor Glassman, Alexa Glynn and Summer Hattell. Terrific defense was shown by Aidan Herbstman at 1st and Sara Olam at short stop. Michaela Bonacci and Alyssa Jones did an awesome job catching the outs at 1st base. Also playing strong in the field were Katie Daoust and Gwenyth Shaw.
McCann Brothers vs Pomperaug B: The McCann Brothersâ Pink Panthers played a competitive game against the Pomperaug Girls Softball team from Southbury. Defensively, the Pink Panthers were led by Grace Lynch, who made some spectacular plays at first base, and Caroline Gardner, who had several strong throws from third base and the pitcherâs mound. Recording three hits each at the plate were Addie Sullivan, Rachel Casagrande, Jocelyn Bazuro, Maren Leyva, Grace Popkin and Noelle Marrazzo.
Carminuccioâs vs Pomperaug A: Carminuccioâs offense was ignited by the hitting of Riley Powers and Deidre Smith. Bridgette McCleary had a strong defensive performance with some great throws to first base.

New England Bounce About 24, Brookfield 16: The bats for New England Bounce About came alive this weekend in their first road trip with every girl on the team contributing multiple hits. Ashley Silvaggi roped her first double of the season down the left field line and Audrey Nichols had her first multihit game. Strong fielding by Sarah Kick provided a run-stopping out at home plate while playing catcher. Abby Watson provided solid fielding at first base to complete several infield putouts.
Taunton Press 2, McCann Brothers 0: McCann Brothers played great defense with strong performances from Vaughn Keeney, Lara McDougall and Ella Schmitt. Lola Villeneuve, Sarah Walsh-Herde and Jessica Eisele had some good at bats and moved runners across the base paths throughout the game.

Stone River Grille 9, McCann Brothers 6: Newtown Blizzards, sponsored by Stone River Grille, had a come from behind win in the last inning Saturday against Newtown Geikos. Ally Doust started the rally followed by hits from Chloe Bigwarfe, Ally Tolson, Ryssa Swanson, Caroline Malin, Natalie Horn and Angela Carriero. Hanna Seger also came up big in the third inning with her first hit of the season. For McCann Brothers, Sophie Muzzio and Hannah Ciccairi led in hitting. Anna Burns was outstanding in her pitching debut. Kiersten Fallon was solid in the field for McCann Brothers.
Associated Refuse 12, Pomperaug Team Three 0: Associated Refuse led the team to a big win this week with great team work from all. From the mound Sienna Cummings and Emily Krasnickas allowed only one hit the entire game. Almost everyone scored. Hannah Marcum, Lianna Perazzo, Victoria Keayes and Veronica Vodola played well in the field.
Shepaug 7, Newtown Hardware 1: Mia Villenueve, Heather Stroili, Olivia Grant and Tess Trahan ripped singles to tie the game early. Julie Hess and Virginia Hepp made their pitching debuts. Shaunna Tucker, Tori and Ally Hurley made great fielding plays to keep the game close until the last inning.
Wilton Wild Things 12,Newtown Travel 6,: Newtown Hawks lost to the Wilton Wild Things Sunday. They played their hearts out against a premier team and held their own the entire game. The 10U Hawks would like to thank their sponsor, Mr Macâs Canteen.

Claim Services International 10, Southbury/Pomperaug 6: Claim Services International defeated Southbury, 10-6, in a game that featured clutch hitting and solid defense. Claim Services rallied for five runs in the second inning to take a 5-4 lead, highlighted by a 2-run single from Samantha Black. Slick fielding plays by Sarah Dowling and Emma McGrath ended Southburyâs threat to retake the lead. During the fifth inning, Alex Watson drove in two runs with a sharply hit ball. Sarah Dowling and Kaysie Fisher provided fantastic pitching to secure victory for the team.
McCann Brothers 15, Brookfield 9: The McCann Brothersâ Pink Pigeons were a force to be reckoned with in Brookfield this past Saturday. Their bats were on fire with strong hits by Cassandra Berro, Sophie Ackert, Allie Eurell and Kaysie Fisher. Sara Matté and Heather Azzarito exhibited strategic base running, while Rachel Daum, Nicole Lillis and Abby Pereira played solid defense. Allie Eurell closed out the day by striking out the final three Brookfield batters.
WellBaskets.com 15, Claim Services International 10: It was a pitcherâs battle in which Christina Sgobbo and Rachel OâGrady of WellBaskets.com came out on top. Jackie Gouveia and Tegan Doherty hit a double apiece, and Kaelana Dauber singled. Claim Services Internationalâs Joy Metzger provided an offensive first inning spark with a 2-run single that was followed with an RBI from Briana Castellano. Also contributing to Claim Servicesâ scoring were Jenna Pannese, Alex Watson and Samantha Black. Anna Johnston and Sarah Dowling pitched hard for Claim Services, but the team ultimately suffered its first loss of the season.
Blueline Designs 12, Woodbury Orange 10: Newtownâs Blueline Designs played hard and came out on top against Woodbury. Dani Otero and Laura LaFreniere both contributed solid hits and followed up with strategic base running. Rose Wheway pitched two innings with a powerful strikeout. At bat she hit for a double, sending in 2 runs for the Blueline team. Alexa Horkachuck pitched a strong three innings, with a grand total of 8 strike outs! And solid base running displayed by Sophie Wolfman rounded out a competitive game against Woodbury Orange.
Newtown Travel 14, Brookfield 2: Brookfield Burn fell to the Newtown Hawks 14-2. Stellar pitching from Ali Nuzzo and Allie Eurell kept batters on their toes while catcher Rylee Mulligan and third baseman Abby Pereira picked off several runners. Olivia Mubarek had a strong day defensively at second base and offensively with a single and 2 RBI while Erin Burns, with her ever-hot bat, blasted two doubles and had 4 RBI. The Newtown Hawks would like to thank their sponsors Claim Services International and PS Direct.

John M Glover Agency Wild Thing 19, Southbury 7: On Ballantine Field in Southbury on Friday evening, The Wild Thing earned its third straight win of the season in what proved to be a mainly defensive battle. Solid pitching from Lexi Tucker, as well as Skylar Kneski on the mound, who also added a monster shot down the first base line for a double, helped take the Wild Thing to a 3-0 start to the season. RBI were added by Jackie Scgobbo, Lauren Villamana and Jillian Gibney. As usual, a great job was done behind the mound from catchers Sam Cody and Sarah Mawdsley.
John M Glover Agency Wild Thing vs Danbury (double header split): The Wild Thing played a double header in Danbury on Saturday. The first was a hard-fought battle resulting in the Newtown teamâs first loss, 16-14. Sam Cody crossed the plate four times and played strong at the catchers position. Tina Demaio led the RBIs with Skylar Kneski right behind. Solid pitching from Annie Hoffman, Lexi Tucker and Skylar Kneski. The second game was won in a squeaker by The Wild Thing 8-7. The game ended up in a pitching duel and a great close by Annie Hoffman. Skylar Kneski crushed a double down the third base line while Jamie Fellin, had 2 RBI, Sarah Mawdsley crossed the plate twice along with Jackie Sgobbo. The win puts The Wild Thing at 4-1 for the season.
