Mr & Mrs Christopher Anastasia
Laura McClure and Christopher Anastasia were married by the Reverend Ann Beams and Pastor John Cardamone, a cousin of the groom, in the spring. The marriage ceremony was celebrated at Newtown Congregational Church, and a reception followed at the Candlewood Inn in Brookfield.
The bride was given into marriage by her parents, Bill and Elaine McClure of Newtown. She carried a bouquet of dark purple peonies, jade roses, green button poms, seeded eucalyptus, purple hydrangea, purple statice, and white carnations. The white carnations were in memory of her grandmother, Ada Mead Ransom.
The brideâs sister, Brittany McClure Overmiller, from Lincolnshire, England, was the matron of honor. Her dress was a dark teal halter satin ball gown with side ruching and an overlay skirt, and her bouquet included jade roses, purple wax flowers, and seeded eucalyptus.
The bridesmaids were Meredith Campbell Britton from Norwalk; Yumi Kim from Seoul, South Korea; Kelsey Perez, the groomâs sister, from Fort Collins, Colo.; Joy McClure, the brideâs sister-in-law, Atlanta, Ga. Their dresses were pool blue halter satin ball gowns with side ruching and an overlay skirt. Their bouquets included purple hydrangea, light blue delphiniums, green button poms, seeded eucalyptus, and purple statice.
The bride graduated from Newtown High School in 1997 and then from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts degree in 2001. She is currently a senior editor for Weekly Reader.
Christopher, who is currently a captain in the United States Army, wore his Army Blue Dress-Mess uniform for his wedding day.
His parents are William Anastasia of Norwalk and Patricia and Louis Perez of Collins, Colo.
William Anastasia served as best man for his son. Christopherâs groomsmen were Neal Johnson from Woonsocket, R.I.; Christopher Ceglia from Bridgeport; Matthew Alred from Newtown; and Jeffrey McClure, brother of the bride, from Atlanta.
The groom graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1995, received his bachelor of arts from Providence College in 1999, and finished his masterâs degree in 2008 following studies at the University of Phoenix. Captain Anastasia is stationed in Connecticut.
