Sexual Assault
On April 16, police arrested a boy under age 16 on a warrant on charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree breach of peace stemming from an incident that occurred in February at Newtown High School.
Police said the boy made sexual comments and grabbed the buttocks of a female there, after which a complaint was filed and police investigated, resulting in the boyâs arrest on the criminal charges.
Following arrest processing, police released the boy from custody on a written promise to appear April 28 in Danbury Juvenile Court for arraignment on the charges.
State law shields the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes.
