Above And Beyond

To the Editor:

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Newtown Torpedoes Swim Team families who generously donated money towards the 2006-2007 coaches’ end-of-the-season gifts. The team collected over $600, which was donated to Kevin’s Community Center. Kevin’s Community Center, Inc is a nonprofit, free medical clinic founded by Dr and Mrs Michael Taweh of Newtown, in memory of their son Kevin. The center helps to provide the uninsured the medical care they need. We feel honored that because of the incredible support of our team families, we were able to make a difference to some community members in need.

Once again, the Newtown Torpedoes swimmers and families have gone above and beyond, both in their generosity and countless volunteer hours. There are not enough ways to thank everyone for all they did to make the season a success. We couldn’t possibly do it without all of your support. It is not a surprise that your children are a pleasure to coach. We certainly know where they get it from!
