George G. Srebotnik

George G. Srebotnik, 68, of Danbury, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital, August 13, following a brief illness. He was born in Stamford, September 17, 1943, a son of Harry and Margaret Costello Srebotnik. He was the husband of Midge (Tucci) Srebotnik.

Besides his wife of 45 years, survivors include three children and their spouses, Kimberly and Joseph Carrino of Sandy Hook, Gregory and Laura Srebotnik of Newtown, and Peter and Sandra Srebotnik of Sandy Hook; five grandchildren; one sister, Rose Rondano, and her husband Charlie, of Trumbull; his brothers-in-law and their wives, Peter and Theresa Tucci, Jr, and Bruce and Dee Tucci; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mr Srebotnik served in the US Marine Corp Reserves. He joined the Connecticut State Police in 1966, stationed with Troops G and L, until 1973. He was most recently an inspector with the Office of the State’s Attorney at Danbury Superior Court, until his retirement in 1992.

A devoted father and grandfather, Mr Srebotnik enjoyed Jersey Shore vacations with his family and watching his grandchildren participate in sports. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed UConn basketball. He was also fond of playing strategy games with his friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated August 16. A private burial will take place at St Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
