Beatrice Ethel Butler

Beatrice Ethel Butler, 91, wife of the late Hubbell J. Butler of 4 Meadowbrook Road, Newtown, formerly of Nunnawauk Meadows, Newtown, died January 21, in Mediplex of Danbury.

Born in Wallingford on July 2, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Martha Layman. She was a resident of Newtown for 50 years, previously living in Bridgeport.

She is survived by two sons, John J. Butler of Bethel and Raymond W. Butler of Newtown; one daughter, Lois Pratt of Newtown; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sisters; one brother; and by her son, Donald Butler.

Funeral services were held at St John’s Episcopal Church, Sandy Hook, on January 24. Cremation was at Mt Grove Crematory in Bridgeport.

 The Honan Funeral Home, 48 Main Street, Newtown, was in charge of arrangements.
