What’s the biggest problem getting around Newtown? Asked at the C.H. Booth Library.

Ruth Shanley: “I don’t have a problem. I think it’s fine. I especially like the quality of the town’s plowing system.”

Kieran Shanley: “Waiting to get my driver’s license!”

Liam Shanley: “Waiting to get my driver’s license. You need a car in this town because it isn’t easy to walk to places, except for when we were students at Newtown Middle School and could walk to the Big Y and Dunkin’ Donuts and the library and General Store.”

Chris Davis: “My family and I moved here 18 months ago from Salt Lake City, Utah. I wish there were more places to walk. Everything is spaced far apart. It can be difficult to get to places.”

Elena Allman: “I think the flagpole in the center of Main Street is the laughingstock of Connecticut.”

Karla Spencer: “I just got my driver’s license, and I don’t like encountering all the big SUVs that are hard to get around.”
