Robert L.       Pitcher

Robert L. Pitcher, 92, previously a longtime resident of Newtown, died August 22, in Shady Knolls Health Center, Seymour, after a brief illness. He was born in Hamden, April 30, 1920, a son of Sarah (Thrope) and Wilson Pitcher.

Mr Pitcher attended schools in Kent and Hamden. He retired from Condit Manufacturing in Sandy Hook after many years of service.

He enjoyed hunting and carpentry. He made custom furniture for his wife, the late Beatrice Pitcher, to whom he was married for 65 years.

Mr Pitcher is survived by his daughter Gail Ugolik and her husband Stephen of Venice, Fla., and Oxford; and one granddaughter, Dr Lori Ugolik of Macon, Ga.

Private funeral services were held August 27, in the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown. Cremation was private.
