David          Doherty

David Doherty, 44, of Sandy Hook, died July 23 at his home after a long illness.

Mr Doherty was born in Danbury on June 9, 1961, a son of Anna (Griffin) Doherty of Sandy Hook and the late Jack Doherty.

He was a lifelong resident of Sandy Hook and was a graduate of St Rose School and Newtown High School. Mr Doherty was last employed as a Quality Control Inspector for Kendro, Inc in Newtown.

He loved fishing, camping, and scuba diving. Mr Doherty had a love of Harleys and NASCAR racing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Edward Doherty of Naugatuck; two sisters, Maureen Will of Sandy Hook and Patricia Hubbs of Londonderry, N.H.; an aunt, Rosalie Perruccio of Niantic; an uncle J.D. Shaw of California; two nieces, Rheinna Doherty and Katherine Will. He is also survived by his many friends.

A graveside service was held July 26 in St Rose Cemetery.
