The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard will be sponsoring the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Saddle Up Trail Ride on Sunday, November 4, at the horse guard facilities on the campus of Fairfield Hills.

The trail ride will start at 9 am and run until 12 noon. It will be 10 miles in length and take about 90 minutes to complete.

“We’re looking for riders of all ages who will contribute their time and talent to help children live,” said program coordinator Sergeant Laura Razowski. “We need lots of riders, since they are the ones who can makes this ride successful.”

Riders will ask sponsors to make a donation based on each mile completed. All riders turning in money will receive a patch. Those who raise $35 or more will receive a patch and a St. Jude’s t-shirt. When $75 or more is raised, the rider will also receive a sports bag. And anyone raising $125 or more will also receive a St. Jude’s sweatshirt.

“The real prize, though, is the pride everyone can take in giving children a chance to live a normal life,” said Sergeant Razowski.

If you are planning to participate in the ride, or wish to sponsor a rider, call Sergeant Razowski at 734-5071 or Private Jackie Sundblade at 729-5646.

St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital was founded by Danny Thomas and operates primarily from public support.
