Responsibility
Police report that they responded to a complaint received at about 9:25 pm on May 15 informing them that there had been a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Berkshire Road and Pole Bridge Road in which the motorist who caused the accident left the scene.
Police said they found the motorist in question on Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook Center, after which they investigated and then charged Randy D. Antolini, 52, of 10 Blue Spruce Drive with two counts of evading responsibility and with two counts of making a restricted turn.
After processing the charges, police released Antolini on $500 bail for a May 30 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Pickup Truck
Police said that at about 4:50 pm on May 16, they spotted motorist Stephen O. Huntley, Jr, 28, of Meriden driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck at 42 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone, near the intersection of Hanover Road and the Boulevard, so they stopped him to investigate.
Police charged Huntley with traveling too fast and with driving with a suspended registration. Huntley was released on a written promise to appear in court on May 30, police report.
Queen/Glover
A two-car accident occurred at the intersection of Glover Avenue and Queen Street about 2:45 pm on May 16.
Motorist Annette Wolson, 48, of Trumbull, who was driving a 2004 Volvo V-70 station wagon eastward on Glover Avenue, stopped at a stop sign at that roadâs intersection with Queen Street, police said.
At that time, motorist Hannah Barrett, 17, of 6 Kaechele Drive was driving a 2000 Subaru Legacy station wagon southward on Queen Street, according to police.
The Volvo then attempted to make a left turn onto northbound Queen Street, but the two vehicles collided, police said. The Subaru had the right of way at the intersection, police said.
Wolson was treated at the scene by ambulance volunteers, according to police. Police issued Wolson an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.
Walnut Tree Hill Road
Police report that at about 12:30 am on May 20, a motorist, who was driving some type of Ford vehicle westward on Walnut Tree Hill Road, drove straight while on a curve in the road and then crashed into a curbside residential mailbox at 47 Walnut tree Hill Road, after which the unknown driver left the scene. Police ask anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them at 203-426-5841.
Audi Damaged
Sometime between 9:20 am and 1:45 pm on May 17, some unknown motorist struck a 2011 Audi A-6 sedan that was parked in the parking lot at the Newtown Country Club at 3 Country Club Road, police said. The driver then left the scene without reporting the collision. Police ask anyone with knowledge of the matter to contact them at 203-426-5841.
Shoplifting
Police said that on the afternoon of May 19, they charged Aubrey Gionfriddo, 25, of Bristol with sixth-degree larceny for allegedly stealing some infant formula from the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street.
After processing the theft charge, police released Gionfriddo on a written promise to appear on May 31 at Danbury Superior Court.
South Main
Motorist Christopher Walsh, 51, of 9 Blue Spruce Drive was driving a 2004 Pontiac Vibe hatchback southward near 91 South Main Street at about 4:32 pm on May 15 and then braked for traffic conditions, after which the Pontiac was struck from behind by southbound motorist Briana Cologna, 19, of 4 Castle Lane, who was driving a 1996 Mercury Marquis sedan, police said.
Ambulance volunteers evaluated Walsh at the scene, but he refused medical attention, police report. Cologna received an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said.

Castle Meadow Road
Police report that at about 7 pm on May 16, motorist Kate Rebman, 17, of 3 Sycamore Drive was driving a 2005 Subaru Inpreza station wagon on Castle Meadow Road, when an unknown motorist was driving an unspecified vehicle in the middle of the road while traveling in the opposite direction.
 To avoid a collision with that vehicle, Rebman pulled off the roadway, but in doing so she struck an unknown object, police said. The unknown vehicle did not stop, police said.
There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
Three Charges
Police report they were using radar speed-monitoring equipment near 121 Poverty Hollow Road at about 11 am on May 19, when they stopped motorist Eric Palmer, 23, of 11 Stuart Drive for traveling too fast.
Police said they charged Palmer with traveling too fast, driving with a suspended license, and failure to maintain proof of automotive insurance coverage.
Police released Palmer on $100 bail for a May 31 court appearance.
SUV Vs Deer
Motorist Allyson Makuch, 20, of 222 Brushy Hill Road was driving a 2008 Toyota RAV-4 SUV southward near 150 South Main Street about 8:49 pm on May 15, when a deer entered the road, resulting in a collision, police said. Makuch was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Queen/Church Hill
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Queen Street and Church Hill Road about 5:19 pm on May 15.
The accident involved a 1999 Honda Civic sedan driven by Lionel M. Clark III, 29, of Bridgeport and a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by David Loose, 52, of 7 Arthurâs Court, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said that they verbally warned Clark for following too closely and they also issued Clark an infraction for driving an unregistered vehicle.
Youthful Offender
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, a 17-year-old boy went to the police station about 5 pm on May 19 and was charged with interfering with police in connection with an incident that occurred on February 17 at Newtown High School, police said.
After processing, the boy was released into his motherâs custody on a written promise to appear in court on June 4.
State law shields the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes.
Hawleyville Accident
Motorist John McHale, 42, of 127 Castle Hill Road was driving a 1998 Nissan 240-SX coupe northward on Hawleyville Road, near Covered Bridge Road, at about 6:50 am on May 18, when a deer ran onto the road, police said. McHale attempted to avoid an accident, but the auto and the deer collided, police said. The deer then ran off. McHale was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Counterfeit Checks
Police said they arrested Leonides Lopez, 61, of Waterbury on a warrant on May 18, charging Lopez with one count of fifth-degree larceny, two counts of fourth-degree larceny, and three counts of third-degree forgery.
Police said the arrest follows an investigation that they conducted after receiving a report on January 3 that some forged checks, which falsely listed the Reed Intermediate School PTA as the checksâ issuer, had been fraudulently used at Home Depot and Loweâs stores in the state.
Lopez was released on bail for an arraignment on the charges at Danbury Superior Court, police said.
I-84 DUI
State police report that they stopped motorist Timothy Clemensen, 61, of Hillsdale, N.J., who was driving a vehicle eastward on Interstate 84, west of Exit 10, at about 6 pm on May 14.
After investigating, state police charged Clemensen with driving under the influence. Clemensen was released on $1,000 bail for a May 21 court appearance, state police said.
Off The Road
State police said that Richard King, 59, of Point Pleasant, N.J., was driving a 2001 Freightliner 38-D truck westward in the center lane of three lanes on Interstate 84, about one-half mile east of Exit 11, at about 11:42 pm on May 18, when the vehicle crossed into the left lane, struck some guardcabling and then went down an embankment into a wooded area.
King was not injured. State police said they issued King an infraction for failure to drive in the proper lane.
Truck Vs Truck
State police said that motorist Panayiotis Koukopoulos, 44, of Woodbury was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado truck westward on Interstate 84, about 1,000 feet east of Exit 9, at about 7:20 am on May 16, when the Chevrolet was struck from behind by motorist Luke Kimball, 16, of 23 Sugar Hill Road, who was driving a 1977 Ford F-250 truck.
Koukopoulos reported neck pain, but declined medical attention, state police said. Kimball received an infraction for following too closely, state police said.

Moving Violations
At about 8 am on May 21, at a seatbelt compliance checkpoint on Hawleyville Road, police stopped motorist David Cornell, 46, of Bethel to investigate.
Police said they charged Cornell with failure to wear a seatbelt and with driving with a suspended license. Cornell was released on $100 bail for a May 31 court appearance, police said.
Currituck Road
At about 9:30 am on May 21, motorist Cynthia Camp, 54, of Brookfield was driving a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV westward on Currituck Road, near its intersection with Stony Brook Road, when a deer ran directly in front of the SUV, resulting in a collision, police said. Camp was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Nunnawauk Road
A two-car accident occurred on Nunnawauk Road at one of the driveway intersections for the Nunnawauk Meadows housing complex at about 11:11 am on May 22, according to police.
The collision involved motorist Dante Guerrera, 82, of Nunnawauk Meadows, who was driving a 1995 Ford Taurus sedan, and motorist Maureen Daley, 61, of 26 Maplewood Trail, who was driving a 2005 Saturn L-300 sedan, police said.
Both motorists refused medical attention, police said. Police said they issued Guerrera an infraction for failure to grant the right of way. Police report they gave Daley an infraction for driving an unregistered vehicle.
