Starting Up A Family Daycare Business

WATERBURY — With proper planning, a home child care business can deliver a stable and profitable income. For those considering this opportunity the Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC) is presenting a three-night program, that will explore what is necessary to start a successful home daycare business.

Session I focuses on The ABCs of Daycare — Learn what is necessary to start a home daycare business, including education, state licensing and insurance.

Session II features Talking to the Experts — Gain insight and guidance in key areas of starting home daycare from a WBDC panel on finance, education and community resources.

Session III will help Getting Started with a Plan — Begin to develop a business plan; review the business concept and evaluate its viability.

Classes will be held Wednesdays, June 6, 13 and 20 from 6 to 9 pm at the Naugatuck Valley Community College. Program fee is $40 for entire series, material included.

Registration is required, and discounts may be available via scholarships to those who qualify based on income guidelines.
