Girl Scouts To Host
Saturday Knit-A-Thon
Girl Scouts Bridget Moore and Victoria Kirkman, both eighth graders at St Rose of Lima School, are hosting a âKnit-a-Thonâ this Saturday, April 28, as part of their Girl Scouts Silver Award requirement. The Girl Scouts are asking all local knitters and crocheters to join them in creating scarves for the Newtown Fundâs 2012 effort to help support local families in need during the holidays.
The program will take place in the Gathering Hall of St Rose of Lima school from 9 am until noon.
Knitters and crocheters of all ages are invited to bring yarn, knitting needless, and crochet hooks to the Knit-A-Thon event to join other crafters in creating scarves for the Newtown Fundâs Holiday Basket program, which provides assistance to local families.
The two Girl Scouts, Cadettes from Troop 51160, will provide snacks, door prizes, and activities for younger children of the knitters/crocheters who attend the event. The girls are being advised by Ambi Moore as they work toward their Silver Award.
