Hill Preserve, January 28

The Newtown Forest Association, Inc. (NFA) will lead a guided hike at its Holcombe Hill Preserve on Saturday, January 28, at 1 pm.

At an elevation of 830 feet above sea level, Holcombe Hill Preserve’s peak is the highest point in town, affording spectacular views of three counties, especially in winter when the trees are bare.

Hikers should meet before the 1 pm start time at the Holcombe Hill parking area, 55 Great Hill Road. NFA is asking that visitors arrive early and bring proper footwear, warm, layered clothing and something to drink.
