Great Service
Great Service
To the Editor:
My husband and I went to the Governorâs Horse Guard property on Saturday, April 23, to pick up free compost for our garden. The three workers there couldnât have been more accommodating; even though it was pouring rain, they helped shovel the compost for us into our truck. Other folks were there in their cars with containers, and took home as much as they could carry. What a fabulous service to the community the Governorâs Horse Guard is providing!
Kudos to Rep. Hovey and Rep. Lyddy for their efforts to consolidate the two state Horse Guards to the Newtown site, as was announced last Friday. The guard is a valuable asset to our town; this free compost distribution is just one small example of the service they provide for the community.
If you would like some of this wonderful well-aged compost, show up there on Saturday, April 30, 9 am to noon. This is the last day for compost distribution. Your gardens (and pocketbook!) will thank you.
