Fun For All At Horse Guard’s Annual Open House

The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard held its annual Open House at its Fairfield Hills facility on Sunday.

Children enjoyed games and crafts, including a stick-horse rodeo, rubber duck pond fishing, face painting and horseshoe decoration. There were also historical uniforms and tack equipment on display, and the public was invited to try on a uniform.

Four riders from Gray Fresian Farm in Easton performed a quadrille, and 2GHG Troopers demonstrated a Cavalry mounted drill and performed the Musical Ride. The 2GHG Drill Team performed and the day ended with pony rides on the 2GHG mounts.

It was a fun day for all, and 2GHG would like to thank all who came to enjoy our Open House, and invite the public to attend the Bicentennial Battalion Review on the New Haven Green on October 4 at 10 am.
