Book Fair 2000 Coming To Roxbury

ROXBURY — The 13th annual Book Fair sponsored by the Friends of the Roxbury Library will be on Saturday, June 24, from 9 am to 2 pm, at Hodge Memorial Library & Museum, on Route 67 facing Roxbury Green.

The book sale will be launched with a preview party on Friday, June 23, from 5:30 to 8 pm, and will end on Sunday, June 25, when all remaining books will be sold for a “buck a bag” between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. Hundreds of books, records and videos covering a wide range of subjects will be on sale indoors and outside under tents.

The preview party will afford book connoisseurs the opportunity to preview and purchase, directly and by silent auction, antique books, curiosities, first editions and autographed books in addition to many other special items housed inside the library.

Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening. Advance tickets, at $20 per person or $35 for two persons, are available by sending a check payable to Treasurer, Friends of the Roxbury Library Inc., PO Box 74, Roxbury, CT 06783.

While admission to the book fair on Saturday and Sunday will be open to the public free of charge, there will be an “early bird” admission charge of $5 for those who would like to shop between 8:30 and 9 am.
