Dinner Will Help Save The Children
Dinner Will Help Save The Children
BETHEL â St Thomasâ Episcopal Church will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from a fundraising dinner on Sunday, June 1, to Save The Children, the charitable organization that has been helping children in poverty for more than 75 years.
Dinner will run from 5 to 7 pm, and will feature a regional African menu prepared by a professional chef. Admission is a $15 donation for adults, $5 for ages 5 and under, with a maximum of $30 per family.
The dinner is part of a collaborative effort to raise funds with The Cartus Save the Children Foundation at Danbury High School. Save The Children is working to raise funds to build a school and a well in a refugee camp in the Darfur region of the Sudan in Africa so that the children will have a safe place to learn and the community will have clean drinking water.
The church is at 95 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel, across the street from Caraluzziâs Bethel Food Market. For additional information call 743-1494 or visit StThomasBethel.org.
