Owner Will Sue For Repair Of Pothole-Damaged Mercedes
A Stratford resident has notified the town that she is pursuing a claim against the town because her auto was damaged when it struck a pothole on Mile Hill Road South last September.
In a statement, Suchon Longwish wrote that while driving her 1975 Mercedes-Benz 300-D on Mile Hill Road South, about 2,000 feet north of its intersection with Turkey Hill Road, at about 5:30 pm September 27, the vehicle struck a large pothole in the pavement. The impact caused the engine oil to leak out from the autoâs engine, resulting in the engine seizing up, she adds.
Damage to the engine will require it to be rebuilt at a cost of $9,536.66, according to Longwish. Longwish is represented by a lawyer in her damage claim.
