Naugatuck Man Leads State Police

On Brief Chase

About 10:30 pm November 21 on eastbound Interstate 84, west of Exit 9, state police activated emergency lights and sirens in seeking to stop motorist Eduardo Boutini, 36, of Naugatuck to investigate a minor motor vehicle violation, state police said.

Boutini, however, increased his speed and then got off the highway at Exit 9, after which he drove past a stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, drove across Hawleyville Road and then sought to reenter the highway, state police said.

State police pulled a patrol car in front of Boutini’s vehicle to stop him from getting back on the highway.

After investigating, state police charged Boutini with disobeying a police officer’s signal, misuse of marker plates, failure to have automotive insurance, failure to drive in the proper lane, violating a stop sign, and driving without a license.

After he posted $1,000 bail, state police released him for a December 8 court appearance.
