*The Mask & Wig Players, the young adult dramatic group led by the marvelous Mrs Martha Bishop, gets underway for the season on Tuesdays beginning September 9, from 3 to 4:30, in the Story Room. All Newtown students in grades 6-12 are welcome.
For Halloween this year weâll do a play based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Weâll also hone our storytelling skills, which encompass all the acting skills you can muster.
Finally, weâll explore mask-making along with music to liven up the staging!Â
*Watch this space for more fall activities for young adults, including Creative Writing: Poetry, as well as special book discussions on Stephenie Meyerâs Twilight series and Christopher Paoliniâs new release Brisingr.

*September Book Talks: Book discussions for many groups will resume in September. Multiple copies of featured books are available at the circulation desk, and everyone is welcome to join the talks.
The Daytime Book Group will discuss The Shipping News by Annie Proulx on Monday, September 8, at 1 pm; Nonfiction Book Group will discuss Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year in the Life of Food by Barbara Kingsolver on Tuesday, September 9, at 1 pm; and then an Evening Book Discussion will concern Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin on Thursday, September 18, at 7:30 pm.
*Tuesday Afternoon at the Movies: The library will be showing films on the big screen on alternating Tuesday afternoons beginning Tuesday, September 9, at 1:30 pm.
The first film will be Then She Found Me, a 2007 dramedy starring Helen Hunt (who also directed), Bette Midler, Colin Firth and Matthew Broderick. The film is rated R and has a running time of 100 minutes.
*Long Term Care seminar: Thursday, September 11, at 7 pm.
Marcia Bernstein, a licensed insurance producer who specializes in helping people of all ages understand their options and strategies in planning for long term care, will present the free program. Learn how you can protect your assets while remaining Medicaid eligible.

*Selling on eBay: Wednesday, September 24, at 1 or 7 pm.
Start earning the eBay way. Come learn how with eBay educational specialist Kerri Cartelli. The Sandy Hook resident will give an overview on how to sell, set up your seller account, and receive payments through PayPal. There is a gold mine in your attic.

C.H. Booth Library is open Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 8 pm; Friday from 11 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm; and Sunday from noon to 5 pm (closed Sundays in July and August).
