Three MV Charges
During patrol duty on the night of September 1, police spotted a minivan traveling eastward on Church Hill Road with a broken headlamp, so they stopped the driver to investigate.
After investigating, police charged motorist Victor Blanco, 29, of Hartford with driving with an inoperable headlamp, driving with a suspended license, and misuse of marker plates.
Police released Blanco from custody on $100 bail for a September 16 court appearance.
Dump Truck
An accident involving a dump truck and a sedan occurred on Wasserman Way, near the Exit 11 ramps for Interstate 84, at about 2:48 pm August 29.
Police said westbound trucker Alan Tonnessen, 61, of Southbury, who was driving a 1986 Chevrolet dump truck, attempted to pass westbound motorist Mary Frobey, 51, of 39 Bennetts Bridge Road, who was driving a 2005 Honda Accord sedan.
In attempting to pass the sedan in slow-moving traffic, the truck damaged the sedanâs left exterior rear-view mirror, police said. There were no injuries.
Police said they verbally warned Tonnessen for failure to drive to the right.
