I-84 SUV Rollover
About 4:50 am June 28, motorist Trisia Hernandez, 25, of Waterbury was driving a 2002 Lincoln Navigator SUV westward on Interstate 84, near the Exit 9 interchange, when the vehicle for some reason went onto the roadâs median and then crossed back across the two westbound lanes, climbed an embankment along the right road shoulder and rolled over several times before coming to rest, state police said.
A witness saw the accident occur, according to state police. Hawleyville and Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the scene to extricate Hernandez from the wreckage.
Ambulance staffers transported Hernandez to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries. Hernanadez was listed in critical condition on July 1 by a hospital spokeswoman.
Theft From Vehicle
Sometime on June 29, someone forcibly broke through the front passenger window of a vehicle parked on Taunton Lake Road, near the southwest shore of the lake, and stole a variety of items from within the vehicle, police said.
The items stolen include two Apple-brand iPod Nano digital music players, a Garmin-brand Nuvi Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation device, sunglasses, some compact discs, and a bubble-making machine, police report.
Police are investigating the case of fourth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief and ask anyone with information on the theft/vandalism to contact Officer John McCluskey at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 426-5841.
