Educators Invited To Technology Conference

WATERBURY — Educators in kindergarten through college levels who are looking for ways to introduce technology into the classroom are invited to attend Naugatuck Valley Community College’s (NVCC) New Wave Technology Conference on Thursday, March 23.

The free, daylong event will be NVCC’s first statewide technology conference aimed at teachers, counselors, and administrators across the kindergarten through college level spectrum. The conference will be held from 8:30 am to 2 pm in the Ruth Ann Leever Atrium on the third floor of NVCC’s Fine Arts Center, at 750 Chase Parkway.

The conference will feature keynote speaker Corinne Hoisington, an information systems technology professor at Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg, Va., who was named Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional in Computer Programming in 2004.

Ms Hoisington’s lecture, “Technology Toys in 2006 to Make Your Job Easier,” will inform educators on how to incorporate technology into the classroom to create a successful learning experience for students.

The deadline to register for the conference is March 20, and registration is required. Seating is limited to 150.

For information contact Gail Casper at 203-575-8069 or GCasper@nvcc.commnet.edu.
