Where Else But In Hawleyville?
Where Else But In Hawleyville?
To the Editor:
I must give you my concern and remarks regarding the Hawleyville Post Office.
Over the years, Mark, Laura, and Richie have become more than post office employees â they are my friends.
Where else do you walk in, and get a cheerful âHi, Philâ from Laura? Where else, if you walk in before 7:30, will they open the window to accommodate you? What post office saves every new stamp for me (yes, I am a stamp collector).
And â if you can believe this â when a new commemorative stamp was delayed in coming out, I actually received a phone call that the stamp has come in!
An old wooden building? Starting to sag a bit? The floor showing signs of wear? Yes â definitely. But the people there never have and never will be a nicer, friendly, concerned group than Mark, Laura, and Richie.
To the USPS, I know that if the roof starts leaking and the walls fall in, you will have to make changes. But until that happens, canât we just leave them alone?
