ON THE ROAD/SHANNON HICKS

Tickets are on sale already for the return of TOWER OF POWER at Tuxedo

Junction in Danbury. The long-running band returns Thursday, April 29. The

following night, THE NERDS return for what the club is calling a "special

event." For tickets and details, contact the club at 748-2561; tickets can be

purchased directly at the club or through TicketMaster and Strawberries

outlets. (If you have to miss the Danbury show by TOP, the band will be in New

Haven at Toad's Place one week later.)

ADRIAN LEGG returns to our area next month, with a May 1 performance at Town

Crier Cafe in Pawling, N.Y. Tickets are $17.50 apiece, and showtime is 9 pm. I

believe this may even be Legg's first appearance back at the Crier since

shifting over to Red House Records (after leaving Relativity). To reserve

tickets (and I strongly suggest doing so for this show. The Crier is not the

biggest place in the world, and Legg generally performs to capacity crowds at

this venue), contact the Town Crier Cafe at 914/855-0716 (M-F 9 am-5 pm).

Billy McLaughlin has an opening set.

Tickets are not available to the general public yet, but two more concerts

have been put on sale for members of the Oakdale's Advance Mail Club. So fans

of CHER and FAITH HILL, get ready: Cher will be at the Wallingford theatre on

July 9; Faith Hill returns the following night. Advance orders for these shows

are due by April 16. Public sales for CHER tickets begin Monday, April 17, at

10 am (no word yet on the Faith Hill tickets). Cyndi Lauper opens the Cher

date, and the concert starts at 7 pm.

On the other hand, tickets for a September date by BRITNEY SPEARS at the

Oakdale also go on sale Saturday morning. The former Mickey Mouse Club

Mousketeer will be in Wallingford on Friday, September 3. All seats will be

$28 for this show. Additionally, tickets for the three-day visit by "Rugrats

Live," (four shows, three nights) June 4-6, along with tickets for REBA

McENTIRE, July 25, will all be on sale Saturday morning at 10 am.

THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND will return once again to the Meadows. Matthews is

returning twice, actually, with a pair of dates, August 6 and 7. Like Jimmy

Buffett, Matthews and his phenomenal band has played each of the four previous

summers the Meadows Music Theatre has been open; unlike Buffett, however,

Matthews is now playing two nights each summer and still sells out both of his

Connecticut shows consistently (Buffett has yet to do a two-night stint in

Connecticut).

Tickets for the August dates will be going on sale this Saturday morning, and

the Meadows is trying something new for this show. Don't bother camping out.

Wristbands to determine only a random place in line will be given out at 9 am,

one hour prior to tickets going on sale. All tickets for the pavilion area are

$43 each, and lawn seating is $32 per person. The shows will begin at 8 pm

(Friday) and 7 pm (Saturday).

Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.
