Pack 470 Attends Camporee

On Saturday, November 5, a group of Webelos Scouts from Head O’ Meadow’s Cub Scout Pack 470 attended the Boy Scout’s of America’s Scatacook District Boy Scout Camporee at Tarrywile Park in Danbury.

The Cub Scouts attending will all be eligible to cross over to Boy Scouting in 2006 and were hosted by the Boy Scouts of Newtown’s Troop 270, based at Dodgingtown Firehouse.

At Camporee, the boys participated in important lessons that included Scouting’s “Leave No Trace” credo of respect for the environment. They learned how preparedness can prevent becoming lost or injured on a hike, then embarked on a short hike of their own.

They also enjoyed a demonstration given by Georgetown Fire Department Water Rescue Team and the Connecticut Canine Search and Rescue Team.
