Roy Selwitz, 77, of Danbury, formerly of Ridgefield, husband of Veronica (Domonkos) Selwitz, died May 17, at Danbury Hospital. Mr Selwitz was born in Springfield, Mass., June 5, 1930, son of Fred and Ruth (Adams) Selwitz.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, Mr Selwitz is survived by a daughter, Wendy Fisher, and son-in-law, Robert, of Newtown; a son, David C. Selwitz, and daughter-in-law, Kathleen, of Danbury; a brother, Jack Selwitz, and sister-in-law, Barbara, of Daytona, Fla.; and two grandchildren, David M. Selwitz and David R. Fisher.
He moved with his family in 1935 from Springfield to Norwalk where he attended local schools and graduated from Norwalk High School. A resident of Ridgefield for 30 years coming from Norwalk, Mr Selwitz had been a resident of Danbury for the past nine years.
Mr Selwitz was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was a retired electrician with Local #501 of White Plains, N.Y. He was an avid New York Yankee fan, enjoyed traveling â especially to Cape Cod and Maine â and also enjoyed a fine cigar and playing cards. A former member of the St Annâs Club and the Laurel Club of Norwalk, he was an honorary member of the Italian Club of Ridgefield.
Graveside funeral services and burial took place May 20 in St Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.
