Union Savings Appoints Two Newtowners

DANBURY — Union Savings Bank President and CEO John C. Kline recently announced the appointment of Newtown residents Margaret Condon to senior vice president, deposit operations, and Joseph Morrissey to senior vice president, commercial services team leader.

“Margaret and Joseph have played an important role in the growth of the bank,” said Mr Kline. “Each brings a great deal of experience in their respective fields, helping to maintain the quality services of which Union Savings Bank is very proud. I’m extremely grateful for their hard work and I congratulate them on their promotions.”

As senior vice president-deposit operations, Ms Condon will manage the deposit operations and funds transfer functions. She is a member of the bank’s risk management and privacy committees. 

Ms Condon has worked with Union Savings Bank since 2001. She has held positions as compliance officer and, most recently, audit manager. Prior to joining Union Savings Bank, Ms Condon worked in the audit department for Wachovia Bank and, more recently, as operations consultant. She attended Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, and Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. In addition, Ms Condon recently completed the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) audit certification program as a Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor (CCBIA).

Ms Condon is a nine-year resident of Newtown, where she is a member of the Newtown Historical Society.

As senior vice president-team leader, Mr Morrissey’s responsibilities include managing a group of commercial lending and business development officers. He is a member of the bank’s loan review and credit review committees.

Mr Morrissey joined Union Savings Bank in 2000, bringing more than 25 years of experience in commercial lending. Most recently, he held the position of vice president-team leader of commercial lending at Union Savings Bank. He earned an MBA in finance from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Fordham University in New York.

Mr Morrissey is a 17-year resident of Newtown. He serves on the board of trustees at Immaculate High School and the regional YMCA of Western Connecticut, and is an advisory board member of St Rose School.
