Chris Body (Western New England College menâs lacrosse) â WNEC made a dramatic comeback with four goals in the final 7:32 of the game, but visiting Cortland State was able to hang on for a 12-10 win Wednesday night (May 16) in a rain-delayed quarterfinal of the NCAA Division III Menâs Lacrosse Championship at Golden Bear Stadium. The game began 30 minutes late because of bad weather and, then, with Cortland leading 2-1 late in the opening period, play was suspended for more than three hours because of heavy rain and lightning. The game continued despite torrential downpours in the second half. It was the first loss of the season for the Bears, who completed the best season in the programâs 26-year history with a 17-1 mark. Body finished with 12 saves in the contest and closed out the year with a 16-1-0 personal record, a 5.68 goals-against average (83 goals allowed in 877 minutes of action) and a .667 save percentage (166 saves).
