PROVIDENCE. Rhode Island - Shana Eigen, a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School, was named to the Johnson & Wales University Hall of Fame during a recent induction ceremony at the Johnson & Wales Inn in Seekonk, Massachusetts.
PROVIDENCE. Rhode Island â Shana Eigen, a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School, was named to the Johnson & Wales University Hall of Fame during a recent induction ceremony at the Johnson & Wales Inn in Seekonk, Massachusetts.
Eigen, a 2003 graduate of JWU and now a paralegal for Attorney Judith Sporn in Westport, joined three other inductees at the ceremony.
Eigen led the Wildcatsâ volleyball team to the Greater Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) title for four straight years while earning an All-GNAC first-team selection for three years and an all-conference second team selection in her freshman year.
Eigen was the conference tournamentâs MVP in 1999, a member of the all-tournament teams in 2000, 2001, and 2002, and was the second Wildcat ever selected to the New England Womenâs Volleyball Associationâs Senior Classic.
A captain of the Wildcats in her senior year, she left JWU with a school record 2,590 set assists, 888 digs, 173 blocks, 202 aces, and 470 kills.
