Connecticut Trail Day is Saturday, June 2.
The Newtown Forest Association, Inc (NFA) will launch its 2007 Summer Trail Hike program and celebrate Connecticut Trail Day with a hike on June 2. Hikers should meet at 10 am the Nettleton Preserve at the NFA property sign and bench at the intersection of Castle Hill Road and Old Castle Drive.

Also in Newtown, the Connecticut Forest and Parks Association is planning a hike at 9 am on at the blue-blazed Aspetuck Trail, Centennial Watershed State Forest. Hikers should meet at Aquarion Water Company parking lots 175 Poverty Hollow Road.
The hike is rated moderately difficult, and is four miles long.
The new, full six-mile Aspetuck Trail connects to Huntington State Park. Participants will enjoy fields, beaver ponds, rock outcroppings, and a one-mile section along one of the best birding areas in the state. Bring lunch and beverage.
