Arnold Lester Byman

Army Veteran Loved Crossword Puzzles

Arnold Lester Byman, 76, of Southport, died September 23 after a ten-year courageous battle against cancer. He was born in Stratford, and was a Southport resident for 35 years.

Mr Byman is survived by his wife, Judith Clark Byman; three sons, Troas Byman and his wife, LuAnn, of Newtown, Gary Byman and his wife, Susan, of Milford, and Kristian Byman of Stamford; a daughter, Karen Byman of Florida; five grandchildren, Zachary, Luke, Erik, Gloria, and Evelyn; a great-granddaughter, Leah; a sister, Esther Huffmiller of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in engineering and was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a sergeant. He was a retired engineer and he loved crossword puzzles.

Funeral services were held September 27 in the Southport Congregational Church. Burial was in Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.
