Pets: No pets right now. We used to have fish and an aquarium, but I did all the work. So when we moved here, we got rid of the aquarium, and no one missed it.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to read, and I like to spend time in my yard, gardening. I grow flowers. Iâd love to grow vegetables, but itâs a lot of work to keep the wildlife out. I walk a lot, too. My neighbor and I have a daily walk that we take.
Do you have a favorite book? I read a lot of different authors. Right now, Iâm reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson. Mostly I read fiction, but I do read some nonfiction, too.
Do you have a favorite vacation destination? I like the beach. I like to lie under my umbrella, with my book, and nap and people watch. I like relaxing vacations, not the kind where you need another vacation when you get home. Iâve gone to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina a lot. Itâs just fun.
What is the best thing about Newtown? We fell in love with Newtown when we were looking for a house. We came from Atlanta, and we liked the schools here, and loved the small town feeling, and the pace of life.
Who do you most admire? I would say my motherâs brother, Uncle LeRoy. I lost my dad at an early age, and Uncle LeRoy was just out of high school, but he stepped in and was a father figure. He made sure we got the things we needed. To this day I admire him. He was there for us.
Do you have a personal philosophy? I like to treat people the way I want to be treated. Iâm always telling my kids, âPeople have feelings.â
What makes you laugh? Jokes with good punch lines. I do like a good joke.
